OneNote notebooks. Nothing is ever changed or deleted in OneNote.
We read your notebooksEvery notebook, section and page is fetched through Microsoft’s
official API — you choose which notebooks, or migrate them all.
Your structure is mirrored in DriveInside a “OneNote Migration” folder you get
one folder per notebook, inside it one folder per section,
and one Google Doc per page. Images and attachments are kept in an
_assets folder alongside.
You get a reportEvery run saves a report to that Drive folder listing each page and
anything that needs your attention. Safe to run again — unchanged pages are skipped,
edited ones update.
OneNote Migration in your Drive
Work Notes one folder per notebook
Meetings one folder per section
Weekly stand-up one Google Doc per page
_assets images & attachments
Known limitations — please read
Handwritten notes (ink) are NOT migrated. Microsoft's export
API drops handwriting, so it can't be carried over automatically. Affected pages get a visible
placeholder in the Google Doc and are listed in your migration report. For those pages, export
them manually from OneNote first: open the page and use
File → Print → Save as PDF (or File → Export
on OneNote for Windows), then upload the PDF next to the migrated Doc in Drive.
Embedded Office files / printouts: migrated as a picture of the
content plus the original file in the _assets folder — not as a live embedded object.
Equations: may lose formatting in the Google Doc.
Unsynced pages: pages not yet synced to Microsoft's cloud arrive
empty and are flagged — sync OneNote (File → Sync) and run the migration again.
Already-migrated pages are skipped; changed ones update.
Run a dry run first — the report tells you exactly which pages have handwriting
or other issues before anything is written to Drive. After a dry run the
“OneNote Migration” folder in Drive contains only that report —
leave the folder in place, the live run reuses it. Your OneNote content is never modified or deleted.
Disclaimer: This tool is provided “as is”, without warranty of any kind.
Migration results may be incomplete or imperfect — you are responsible for reviewing your
migrated documents and for any data loss. Keep your original OneNote notebooks until you have
verified that everything you need was migrated correctly.
